Artesonjaru, Pérou – 6025m

This is the emblem of “Paramount Pictures”. In movie theatres and television screens around the world, we have seen this perfect mountain. But did we know that it really exists? The pyramid is real and is to be found in the Andes of South America. To be exact this peak stands in the North of the Cordillera Blanca region of Peru.

A part of the world, full of contrasts and colours. The setting offers lus alpine vegetation set against a backdrop of snowy peaks that look like the tips of a lemon meringue pie! This ascent takes place in high altitudes and the ski descent requires a good acclimatization as well as an excellent level of physical fitness and strong steep skiing technical ability. This expedition is not all about the technical challenge, it is also about meeting people who have a tremendously rich culture to share.
Participants need to fulfill the requirements of Gold ski level and Silver mountaineer level on the Peakpowder evaluation forms, in order to join this expedition. The head guide is an IFMGA certified high mountain guide who speaks both French and English. The support staff (cook, arrieros and porters) is Spanish speaking. Length of expedition is 18 days.
