Inspiring words, rain, snow, cold...one imagines the monsoon season in the Himalayan region of the world. Mountian summits are covered in white, with humid snow sticking to the rock faces up high and it looks like sticky candy meringue. At lower altitudes, fresh winter snow has fallen on a hard base under 2200m and this new layer mixed with wind leaves the faces looking like Snow White. The year has started with a bang...not joking about the play on words, but unfortunately too many avalanche accidents to speak of. We wish you a very beautiful new year with tons of love and happiness, and enjoy your adventures while skiing in the big white planet - but remember to stay safe. Don't forget that Peakpowder is here, ready and waiting to give you updates and information on the snow conditions. If you have any questions and/or doubts, call us. We are always open and happy to share our experience with you and keep you informed.

Snow, and yes, lots of rocks! Keep your eyes open and your tips high, and don't be taken by surprise by a rock hiding just under the surface of the fresh powder. Luckily we know the terrain well and this luxury provided for an excellent day of fresh powder on the Grand Montets ski area. The kick off of the season at the Grands Montets was massive...in all senses of the word! Only part of the ski area was open. The sun, the energy, the people, the powder snow...all these elements added together took everyone by surprise. No one expected to see so many people on the mountain. The season "gong" has gone off, and it's time to start riding. Peakpowder normally organizes a special evening to kick-off the new skiing seson, but this year we've decided to host the event over the holiday season. Awards will be handed out and members of the Gold Couloirs Club will be rewarded. See you soon.
